Rawletta Barrow

Rawletta developed a fervent passion for human rights while studying law at the University of the West Indies in Barbados, where she focused on researching the human rights impacts arising out of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a youth ambassador in her home country Guyana, Rawletta went on to spearhead several community and youth development projects including “Project Jumpstart,” a career mentorship program which has impacted over 300 Guyanese youths since its launch in 2021. She also has a keen interest in mooting which earned her the first prize in the 2022 Caribbean-China International Law Mooting Competition. Rawletta is now a Rhodes Scholar pursuing her postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford, where she continues to hone her expertise in law as a tool for social transformation. This fall, Rawletta will further her academic journey at Oxford by embarking on an M.Phil. project targeting discrimination in education.
