In a time of acute self-consciousness about our social identities and divisions, this seminar addresses how we as human beings organize ourselves into societies, how organizations and groups form and interact, how change occurs, and how societies resemble and differ from each other. Examples and topics will be drawn from various nations and cultures, with special attention to the impact of secularization, multiculturalism, technology and social media.
