While at Saint Louis University, Sarah-Marie focused on French culture and civilization, as well as the “mises en scène” of the childhood memories of French photographer Bernard Faucon. She designed and co-led study abroad programs in France and Japan alongside her sister, Andrea Land, and she also instructed high school students in digital photography and on-assignment projects for National Geographic Student Expeditions in Paris, London, Prague, and Barcelona. In 2025, Sarah-Marie received the Excellence Award in Teaching from The Wilson School and traveled to France for specialized cave research at the Lascaux IV International Center of Parietal Art. Sarah-Marie now works as the French teacher at The Wilson School, implementing a creative curriculum where students experience language through storytelling, human connection, and art. She is fluent in French.
