Wageningen University, M.A., Resilient Farming and Food Systems; Skidmore College, B.A., International Affairs and Environmental Studies

While at Skidmore, Ale focused on the ramifications of land management and food politics. After graduation, he returned to his home in Italy to gain practical experience working with nature-based solutions to address the world’s most pressing concerns. He also traveled to Jordan, Spain, and Sicily, where he received his permaculture design certificate and gained practical experience contributing to land restoration projects. Additionally, he consulted with farmers to promote biodiversity protection and ecological resilience to climate change. Alessandro now studies regenerative agriculture and ecological restoration as he pursues an M.Sc. in the Netherlands, focusing on food sovereignty and agrarian reform to align agricultural practices with planetary boundaries in a fair and just way. Alessandro is fluent in Italian, English, and Portuguese, and proficient in French. He spent the winter and spring researching and working with the Landless Workers’ Movement in Brazil. He has previously led Putney’s farm-to-table program in Italy and has taught at Oxford Academia and Harvard Chan C-CHANGE Youth Summit.
